Official sources last checked:
How it works
From scope check to a pack you keep alive
Check your scope
A 5-minute check gives you an indicative tier, with the reasoning and the official sources it rests on.
Build your records
Capacity basis, responsible person and the four public protection procedures — drafted from your venue profile.
Approve and brief
The responsible person approves each document. Staff briefings and role assignments are logged as you go.
Keep it alive
A review calendar, test logs and daily source tracking flag what needs review before it goes stale.
What the pack includes
Eight linked records, each dated, versioned and tied to the source it rests on.
Scope and tier record
Your indicative tier, with the reasoning and the sources it rests on.
Capacity evidence
How you arrived at the number of people you reasonably expect, recorded with dates.
Responsible-person record
Who holds the duty for your premises, recorded in one place.
Four public protection procedures
Evacuation, invacuation, lockdown and communication, drafted around your venue.
Staff briefing log
Who was briefed, on what and when — a running record, not a one-off.
Review calendar
Every document carries a review date, so nothing quietly goes stale.
Source-check register
Official sources are checked daily and changes are flagged for your review.
Public pack / staff-only annex split
A shareable pack for scrutiny and a staff-only annex for sensitive detail.
Built for the venues Martyn’s Law actually covers
Standard-tier premises — broadly those expecting 200–799 people — are the heart of the Act, and the venues we serve first. The workspace grows with you: enhanced-tier premises (800+) get the further-measures branch, and events expecting 800 or more get the qualifying-event check.
Where the boundary sits
martynslaw.app is an independent product. Official guidance and legislation are cited as sources — they remain the only authority. You stay in control of every record, and the responsible person approves everything before it counts.
What this is — and what it is not
martynslaw.app is a preparation and document-management tool. It is not legal advice, not official guidance, not official certification, not SIA approval and not a guarantee of compliance. The responsible person must review and approve all documents before use.
