Security Industry Authority (SIA)
The regulator for Martyn's Law. It will oversee the duties, advise, and (for serious failures) enforce.
The Security Industry Authority, best known for licensing the private security industry, is the regulator for Martyn's Law. It will oversee how qualifying premises and events meet the requirements, taking a supportive, advice-first approach.
The SIA can issue compliance and restriction notices and, for serious or persistent failures, financial penalties. Its notification process is not yet live — there is nothing to register at this stage.
Who it affects: Every responsible person, once the duties commence.
