Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025
The formal name for Martyn's Law — the UK Act of Parliament that creates the duties on premises and events.
This is the legislation behind Martyn's Law. It received Royal Assent on 3 April 2025, with an implementation period of at least 24 months, so the duties are expected to come into force in spring 2027 (the exact date is still to be confirmed).
The Act sets out which premises and events are in scope, the two tiers of duty, and the role of the Security Industry Authority as regulator.
Who it affects: Responsible persons for qualifying premises and events across the UK.
